Installing doors

Renstrom and crew are now installing the interior door jams and hanging the interior doors.

Terrazzo

This is a picture of the terrazzo crew applying the start of the terrazzo base.

Roofing

The roofers are here today and they will be back again tomorrow to finish up all the shingles and flashing. The copper over the radius and cupola will be installed at the start of the week next week.

Basement

The drywaller made great progress in the basement today. The texure will be all complete this weekend and will hopefully be dry my monday.

Cabinet Installation

Here is a look at the cabinets as they are being installed. Renstrom and his crew should be finished installing by the end of the day. 

Doors

The interior doors arrived on site today. Next week Renstrom and his crew will begin installing the jambs.

Cabinets

The bathroom vanities have arrived on site. Renstrom and his crew will be installing them today and tomorrow. After the vanities have been installed, Renstrom will begin on installing the interior doors.

Stone on south side

The stone masons have completed work on the south side of the house. There is about 2 more weeks of work before they are completely finished with all the stone on the house.

Main level

The drywallers have spent the end of this week on the main level. They will be nearly complete with the main level drywall by the start of next week.  The drywall finish crew plans to start work in the basement tomorrow.

Drywall

The drywallers are done hanging the drywall in the basement. After we pass the inspection they will begin finishing the drywall. That means taping the seams filling the screw holes with drywall mud and applying the texture to the walls.

Terrazzo

The work on the terrazzo shower pans begun today. The crew is doing what is called a 'pre-float' as a foundation for the finished terrazzo pan. The pre-float will take about a week and the terrazzo finish will take another week after that.

Backfill

Today the footer and stem wall for the mudroom deck in the courtyard was backfilled. Tim and crew also brought in dirt from the on site pit to bring up the grade in the courtyard, reduce the mud, and gain positive drainage away from the house.

Stone on east deck

The stone on the east is coming along. The masons have nearly finished all of the stone on the east side of the house.

Radius soffit

Interior stain complete

Here is a look at the stained beams next to the fireplace stone.

Stain

The stain has begun on the hand carved timbers inside the house. The painters will be finished by tomorrow and the drywallers will begin hanging drywall in the kitchen and great room this week. 

Gypcrete

The gypcrete floors were poured yesterday. Now all of the radiant lines are complete throughout the entire house.

Elevator shaft

Chad began work on the elevator shaft a will be finished with it next week.

Mudroom footer

Today we poured the footer in the courtyard that will support the stairs outside of the mudroom door. The rest of the wall will be formed and poured next week.

Great room

The radiant lines are complete and we will be pouring gypcrete in about 30 minutes.

Progress.

Drywall has been hung in the garage and in the upstairs bedrooms. Drywall is now in progress in the master bedroom wing.

Great room fireplace

The masons finished the fireplace in the great room and it looks incredible.

First day of snow

Drywall!

The drywall was loaded into the house today and the crew from Mountain Top Drywallhas begun work on the upstairs bedrooms.  They will be working hard through the weekend to get a good jump on the project.

Radiant lines

The last of the radiant lines are being installed today and at the start of next week. These are the lines in the entry and the and greatroom. 

Radiant heat

Josh and his crew are doing a good job on the mechanical room. This is a picture of him assembling a header for the radiant floor heating lines.

Great room fireplace

The 4 piece stone assembly is complete. Now all that needs to be done on the fireplace is the stone around it. The fireplace will be completly finished by the end of the week.

Welding support beam

Tim and crew have headed back up to the hill to log and clear the trees. If you have never seen this equipment in action before it sure is a sight to see!

Greatroom Hearth

The hearth has been installed in the greatroom. The 1800lb piece of stone looks incredible. Today the stone wall beneath the hearth will be set and next week the rest of the fire place assembly will be in place.

Insulation

Insulation Begins

The spray foam insulation has begun in the upstairs bedrooms. Rich and his crew will be working through tomorrow to finish the upper and main levels. He will return next week to tie up the basement.  Drywall will begin soon and then on to the finishes after drywall is complete.

Roofing continues

The roofers are making great progress. The house is completly dried in and they are on to the shingles now. The shingles go very nicely with the stone and add a lot to the overall look of the house.

Fireplace stone

The stone arrived today for the kithchen and greatroom fireplaces. The pieces were heavy but everything ran very smooth. The masons will be installing the fireplace stone next week. The stone looks great and will create a nice feature once installed.

Roofing Begins

Kudu roofing arrived on site. They will begin the final dry-in today as well as shingles on the upper level.

Grading and Site Cleanup

Tim and crew are preparing the site for winter.  They are bringing the dirt up around the house to almost final grade to keep the water draining away from the house. They are also cleaning and organizing the site before snow fall.

Mechanical Room

The mechanical room is coming along nicely. Josh and crew will be spending this week and the next installing and hooking up all the equipment. Currently they are hooking up the geothermal system.

Fire brick

Today the masons began the fire brick in the great room fire place. The crew also continued on the stone veneer for the east deck.

Basement electrical

The rough in electrical is almost complete.  The main panels were wired today and all that is left is the mechanical room.

Water line installed.

The water line was completed yesterday and backfilled today.

Stonework begins on east deck!

The masons started preparing the east deck today for the stone veneer. The stone will begin to go up tomorrow and will continue throughout this week and the next.  Stonework on the south side will resume next week once the trench for the water line has been backfilled.

Electrical in basement

The electricians are making great progress. They have completed the first and second levels and they are now nearing completion on the basement as well.  We are looking to pass the final inspection within the next two to three weeks. Mike and crew are doing a great job!

Water line installation

Tim and crew are trenching for the main water line today. The water line and extra conduit will be installed and backfilled by the end of the week.  Tim's crew is moving quickly and staying ahead of schedule.
